The Alastair buckle is a very classic, round belt buckle that is a bit longer than our Geroge horseshoe buckle. Unlike George, it also has a uniform thickness and pronounced end pieces. Because of those features, one could argue it is a bit more casual but with its clean, round lines, it is still a very classic buckle design that will stand the test of time.

It is a bit heavier and thus more substantial than all the other buckles. If you like to wear more casual and rugged outfits, this is a fantastic buckle!Even though it can also be worn with a suit, the round line of the buckle harmonizes really well with round-toed shoes.

This buckle lends you a solid appearance. The perfect companion for the well-dressed gentleman who wants to stand out in a subtle way and who does not like the garish over the top western belt buckles.

How to Care for your Buckle

Like all Fort Belvedere products, this buckle is extremely sturdy and was designed to be worn. Under regular use and wear, and provided that you don’t run it through an acid bath, it should require no special treatment, thanks to its hardy construction and thick metal plating.

If needed, you can buff the buckle to a high shine by gently rubbing it with a soft, clean cotton cloth.

To aid you in assembling the perfect outfit efficiently, we do suggest that you store your buckles in one place, to facilitate choosing the right buckle for the right time.

Sturdy Brass with a Thick Precious Metal Plating

The body of this buckle consists of about 50 grams of solid brass. Weighty, sturdy, and strong, this metal was the perfect choice when we sought out a material that would last and not require the constant replacing typical of lesser-quality belts.

Over the brass we have layered a thick coating of precious metal with a thickness of over an entire micron. Plating our belt buckles in this way allows us to bring you a quality, long-lasting buckle that has the appearance of being made from solid gold or platinum but at a fraction of the price.
