Modeled after the humble safety pin, this collar pin is designed to work with a wide variety of collar types and was, for decades, a regular sight in menswear: historic gentlemen of style like Clark Gable and Fred Astaire wore one regularly, as did Leonardo di Caprio in the 2013 film adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

If you are wearing a pinhole collar, the point will slip neatly through the premade holes and securely hold your collar tips. If your collar has no premade holes, the thin, sharp point will gently pass through the fabric of your collar, pinning both tips in place.

With a luster redolent of Old World Charm, few metals match the allure of classic yellow gold. With an extra thick plating of 2 microns over its sturdy brass body, this pin is designed to last and you need never worry about the plating rubbing off with regular wear.

Please note that extremely wide cutaway collar shirts should not be worn with collar jewelry and our pins will not fit them.

That’s why we decided to craft ours out of a solid hunk of base metal, either 925 sterling silver or brass. Durable, pliable, and strong, this metal was truly the best material for these collar pins as it won’t wear down or break from the repetitive motion of securing and un-securing the point of this collar in.

To give this collar pin a beautiful luster, we then thickly coated its body in a precious metal. Doing so imparts the incredible beauty of gold or platinum to this piece of jewelry without adversely affecting its functionality or durability. Make Sure Your Tie Jewelry Will Fit Your Collar

Our collar pin is 51mm or 2″ long. As such, it will fit any club collar or pin hole collar and can fit many medium spread collars. It is too short, however, for wide spread and cutaway collars.

How to Wear

When inserting your collar pin, pierce the fabric about ¼ to ⅓ of the way down the height of the collar from its top. You want the pin to sit securely under the tie knot, gently lifting and supporting it.

Don’t insert the collar pin near the points of the collar as this will look odd and won’t allow the collar pin to fulfill its function.

Jewelry That Gets Better with Age

With regular use, your Fort Belvedere jewelry should not require any special cleaning and will naturally develop a beautiful, subtle patina that imparts personality and uniqueness.

If desired, a quality precious metal cleaner can be used sparingly to bring out a brighter shine on the metal, but this is not necessary. All of our jewelry is sturdy enough that you can wear it without concern and can look forward to passing them on to your children or even grandchildren.
