Vintage Wide-Ribbed Texture
This bow tie comes with wide ribs that add personality and unique visual interest with its prominent three-dimensional texture that does not compromise the overall elegance or formality of the bow tie. This elegantly vintage look was especially favored by well-dressed men of the 1930s. Styled with unique single ends, this bow tie has dimensions of approximately 4.75” by 2.75,” or 12 cm by 7 cm. It looks particularly dapper with a wing collar, but will also pair gorgeously with a turndown collar.
Because it is singled-end, this bow tie is slightly smaller than most bow ties but still large enough to work with any face.
This single-end bow tie perfectly complements any kind of tuxedo with a faille or grosgrain lapel and will look especially dashing with a midnight blue or black dinner jacket. It also pairs well with white or off-white evening shirts, studs or traditional buttons, and either traditional waist covering, be it a formal vest or cummerbund.

Black Tie Etiquette
The black bow tie has famously given its name to the Black Tie Dress Code, but this accessory is also an essential requirement when wearing a tuxedo or dinner jacket ensemble. This neckwear will be appropriate for any formal evening dress code that includes the words “Black Tie.” Its timeless single-ended bow type will frame your face perfectly and ensure you make a memorable impact.
Do not forget the other accessories typical of Black Tie. For the most elegant appearance, it is important to match the facings of your tuxedo to your accessories like neckwear. Therefore, if your dinner jacket has grosgrain on the lapels, you should have a bow tie in the same material. Be sure to select an appropriate waist covering, like a matching cummerbund, and consider a boutonniere as well: traditionally, gentlemen wore a rose or carnation with evening ensembles.
The Most Expensive Grosgrain in the World
Grosgrain is made from yarns with more ends, or warp yarns, than picks, or weft yarns. This combination creates a unique, flat rib effect in the fabric that has a regimented but still visually interesting appearance. Grosgrain is made with lighter cords than faille, although nowadays the terms are often used interchangeably. Quality grosgrain fabric is increasingly rare and today found mostly in bespoke garments, and it has the same degree of formality as satin, making it a perfectly acceptable option for balls, galas, weddings, or other formal Black Tie evening functions.
Care
Cleaning
Silk and blended silk neckwear should not be washed immersed in water as doing so can ruin the texture and color of the silk. Instead, spot clean your neckwear using the following steps.
Gently blot any excess stain with a soft, dry cloth. Do not rub as this can damage the fabric.
Fill a small bowl with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild detergent specifically designed for silk.
Dip a corner of a clean, white cloth into the solution and test it on a hidden area of the tie to ensure it doesn’t cause discoloration.
If the test is successful, lightly dab the stained area with the dampened cloth. Use a gentle tapping motion and do not saturate the silk.
Moisten another clean cloth with plain lukewarm water and gently dab the area to remove any soap residue.
Pat the cleaned area with a dry cloth to absorb moisture, then leave the tie laid flat on a towel to air dry completely.
If the stain does not respond to the these steps, take the neckwear to a professional dry cleaner experienced in handling delicate garments.
Storage
To prevent heavy creasing, never store your neckwear tied or knotted.
Undo the knot and then roll the necktie up in a firm but not excessively tight coil.
Allow it to sit in the coil for about a day to relax wrinkles.
To prevent wrinkles, store your silk neckwear hanging, flat, or in a very loose roll.
No Sizing Necessary
Because of how it is sized and worn, this formal evening single end bow tie requires no precise sizing and can be worn by anybody, making it an attractive solution for those who do not wish to worry about sizing issues.
